The fiftieth anniversary of John T Fisher and his wife was honored on Sunday September 5 at Bethel. Six sons and one daughter attended with ten children born to the couple. three died including one who lost his life defending his country. Grandchildren and distant great grandchildren were noted, with relatives from Washington city New Richmond Elk Lick and others. A large display of presents and a special dimmer highlighted the gathering as neighbors wished them many more years of happiness.

Tragedy in Crosstown Aids Sorrowful Death of Elisha Hill
A 25 year old Crosstown farm laborer Elisha Hill died by suicide in his parents home Monday afternoon after a stressed period of depression and financial worries. Neighbors recall his good character and pleasant manners. He left behind parents, three brothers, and three sisters. Burial was held yesterday at 2 pm with a large funeral attendance.

A roundup of injuries and accidents across Clermont and surrounding towns notes Jerry Stewart mashed foot at Milford while handling lumber. John Thalman fell from a barn in Stonelick, seriously injuring himself. A buggy horse runaway at Nicholsville shattered the vehicle. the driver escaped unharmed. A child was pushed over a bank at Iliff brick works, nearly breaking his neck. A 91 year old near Willhamville fractured her hip after a fall. Canning mishaps at West Union caused burns from wax and steam bursts from a corked jug, scalding two women. Mrs Wyatt in New Richmond fell twenty feet down stairs, with severe contusions feared internal injuries. Lew Buerkle suffered a bone-deep wound to three fingers while skinning a calf. a gamble stick failure caused the blade’s end to injure his hand. Also noted are nuptials of L. M. Monterey Resident Martin Patton Found Dead in Bed
Last Thursday at 2 am Monterey resident Martin K Patton aged 68 was found dead in his bed after kidney troubles and a severe chill the prior evening. His grandson discovered him cold in death in the same room while the grandson slept on a lounge. Rev John Burdsall conducted funeral services and interment followed at Charon cemetery. He leaves a paralyzed widow confined to her room for three years.
