The 1962 Clermont County Fair saw a standout steer sale with a 27 head lot averaging 35.14 dollars per head. Buyers around the area supported the sale strongly, marking it as one of the best in the state this year.

School Bus Drivers Attend Workshop

The Clermont County Transportation Workshop was held at Clermont Northeastern High School on Tuesday August 28. Three discussion sessions followed led by a member of the State Highway Patrol and two from the State Department of Education on pupil transportation. Attendees included bus drivers local district executives and transportation supervisors. Harry Moore county superintendent presided as master of ceremonies.

Hospital Group To Sponsor Rodeo At Clermont County Fairgrounds

Owensville reports the West Clermont Hospital Association will sponsor a Western Horse Show and Rodeo at the Clermont County fair grounds on September 15 and 16. Saturday shows run 10 a.m. 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. with two Sunday shows at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

ASC Convention Set For Sept 14 In Clermont County

Delegates from Clermont communities will meet at the ASC office on Friday September 14 at 9 a.m. to elect a county committee to administer ASC programs. The panel will include chair man vice chair man regular member and two alternates with terms starting October 1. Delegates were chosen in mail elections to be tallied on Friday September 7.

Landfill reopening urged for Clermont County

The Clermont County Good Government League urges reopening of the Laurel landfill on a temporary basis to avert health risks and potential epidemics. It proposes a deputized sanitarian funded by waste collectors, possible incinerators via Area Redevelopment Act, and a county sanitation department to create relief and employment. The league schedules a fall meeting at the courthouse annex on Sept 19 at 8 p.m.

Crosses Remind Drivers Of Highway Slaughter On Labor Day

A line of white crosses along Rt. 125 west of Amelia marks traffic fatalities during Labor Day weekend. Boy Scout Troop 650 set the crosses with supporters serving coffee and drinks to motorists. The camp drew wide publicity and prompted questions about highway safety.
