Grause Murder Probe Advances in Clermont County

Investigators continue the Grause murder case after Frank Grause 68 was found Aug. 28 buried under rocks in a Snyder farm creek bed near Nicholsville. Deputies and a fire chief searched a Wollie Mallott farm area hoping to recover car tags and the murder weapon.

Meeting Called on Area Scout Council Merger

Eugene J. Kramer presides as Cincinnati Area Council votes on a merger with Dan Beard Council of Kentucky. Ratification by general membership and institution reps needed. merger would expand to about 19 000 boys in 649 packs troops and explorer units across Ohio and Kentucky. By 1959 scouting age in the combined territory exceeds 98 090 boys.

Red Cross Seeks Aiding Hendersons After Trailer Fire

The Batavia Chapter of the American Red Cross requests donations of household articles and a cooking stove for Everett Henderson and family of Elklick after their trailer home burned on August 27, leaving them with nothing.

Fall Festival Plans Formed in Milford Parade Sept 13

Milford planning committee announces a Sept 13 parade on Center Street with a 6:30 p.m. lineup and 7 p.m. start rain or shine. The route travels Main Street Water Street to Riverside Park with out of town judges awarding cash prizes for top organization and business entries. On Sept 15 the final night will crown the 1956 Buick winner. Robert Bryant, former Batavia teacher and coach, assigned to Okinawa Air Force school, sails Aug 15 from Seattle for indoctrination.

Lebanon Production Credit Group Plans Series Of Area Meetings

The Lebanon Production Credit Association schedules five meetings for stockholders across counties. Event dates span Sept 10 in Lebanon, Sept 12 in Williamsburg, Sept 15 in Hamilton, Sept 17 in Wilmington, and Sept 20 in Hillsboro with reports, entertainment, and guest speaker Ray Bailey of Ohio State University. The farmer owned group serves 2000 members across Clinton to Warren counties with over $4,086,000 in operating credit used in the past year.

Voters register in Clermont as fire course begins

The 26 members of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department start a 30 hour instruction program led by Karl Moore of Georgetown to improve local fire protection. Training is funded by the State Department of Education and supported by local officials and safety organizations. Clermont County Board of Elections reports 10 015 residents registered Aug 23 25 and 29 in Goshen Pierce Miami and Union townships and will hold registration nights Sept 6 9 6 to 8 30 p.m.

Miss Charlotte Watkins, Milford high school graduate, receives the sixth Clermont County elementary teacher scholarship. Roy Thompson, county superintendent, notes she will attend Miami University. she is the daughter of Howard Watkins, a Clermont Northeastern board of education member.

Countians to Attend National Spanish War Veterans Encampment

Charles W. Wright Sr. commander of Henry C. Corbin Camp 115 will attend the 58th National encampment of the United Spanish War Veterans in Louisville Kentucky on September 24. Residents lodge dump protest near Miamiville

A delegation from Miamiville and Remington filed a complaint with the Clermont County Board of Health over garbage dumping at an old gravel pit on Route 126. They cite health threats and odors from waste dumped from Deer Park and neighboring communities. Virgil H. Locke earned a Master of Science degree at OSU in the summer quarter commencement.

Family Service Woman To Speak At PTA Meeting
