Batavia Garden Club will sponsor a home gardens flower show at the Armory on Saturday afternoon and evening. Admission is free and visitors may tour from 3 p.m. Exhibitors may enter once per class with dedicated sections for flowers artistic arrangements and still life. prizes include blue red and white ribbons and cash in some categories. Rules require grown flowers only and entries between 9 and 11 a.m. Saturday. Miss Jennie Penn available for details before Friday noon.

Fugitive Returned After Jail Escape in Batavia Area
William Brown of Brent Kentucky who fled Batavia jail on July 28 was captured on a shanty boat below Cincinnati and handed to Deputy Sheriff Brooks. He said he was glad to return and feared every man he met was an officer. He is among four escapees using a blanket rope escape.
