Clermont County supports new court house with 75000 grant
WPA officials tentatively approve a 75000 grant for a new Clermont County court house and the county commissioners vote to place a 25000 bond issue before voters to cover the county share. The proposal promises not to raise taxes, will reduce outside rentals, and provide one year of work relief for about 45 men weekly.

Clermont County poultrymen plan an all day poultry tour on Friday September 13 with Ohio State University Poultry Extension Specialist Raymond E Cray. Roy Battles county agent says Cray will explain problems and answer questions and give a short talk on recent poultry industry trends after lunch. A culling demonstration will let attendees practice culling and discuss feeding housing disease and parasite control and bringing pullets into production. Former Mt Crab resident escapes serious crash on Williamsburg road
Harvey Drake of Mt Crab Ohio narrowly survived a late night crash when his 1932 Chevrolet plunged off a bridge embankment near Bethel. He sustained cuts from windshield glass but climbed out and walked to the nearby Fagley home for aid as Dr Culley provided first aid.

Forestville Man Arrested in Pig Theft Case
Forestville area man Harlan Childers aged 52 was arrested on a warrant for receiving a pig stolen from Ira Yeary. Yeary swore to the warrant. Childers pleaded not guilty before Justice Homer Wilson and posted a $50 bond. Hog valued at $8. Arthur Parks, also from near Forestville, named in the warrant, has not been apprehended.

Batavia American Legion clinched the Riverside Division by beating Williamsville 12 to 6 in the final scheduled game. They finished with 70 runs on 88 hits while opponents had 28 runs on 38 hits. Next Saturday Batavia hosts the All Star Colored Chivo Giant in an exhibition. Four Arrested in Chicken Theft Probe from Taylor Farm
Four suspects including Oliver and Noah Evans with Della and Pearl Evans were arrested in Cincinnati and bound over to the Warren County grand jury on charges of stealing chickens from George Taylor’s Nicholsville farm last May. Oliver and Noah pleaded guilty while the two women waived exam. Sheriff Auxier traced the auto used in the night theft, and Brandenberg remains jailed on concealed weapons charges awaiting outcome.
