New Work for an Old Trade
Jesse S. Stagg, once a steamboat engineer for nine years, died Saturday after a long illness. Born March 1, 1829 in Mt. Washington Ohio, he lived in Batavia since losing his sight ten years ago. He leaves a wife Clara White and four children. A funeral was held with Rev. Straus, Judge Hulick, and Rev. Shultz attending. interment in Union cemetery.
