A crowd paused on a street corner last Thursday to admire three large fish weighing three pounds four ounces and two others around two and a half pounds. Mate Lewis captured the beauties near town using a spoon hook. rain swelled the stream but would settle soon.
A large gathering of soldiers and friends met last Saturday for a Clermont county camp fire event organized by the G A R posts. Willory Walker of Williamsburg was named president with F C Apple of Batavia treasurer and Alf Floyd secretary. A future annual meeting plan is set with post vice presidents to be elected from each post.
Immense aid enthusiastic Republican meetings were held in Neville Roudebush and Hicks with speakers G W Auitek Lowell Roudebush and Hon David Sleeper. A huge Wilpomeburg gathering featured Lt Gov Jones and J H Bromwell amid intense cheers. Felicity hosted Sleeper with a rousing reception. The paper notes more meetings this week and a big sound money parade in Cincinnati on Saturday.
