Blood drive combined by local posts in Felicity

The Opl Herman Hough ton Post VFW Felicity and Wiley Croswell Post American Legion Felicity join to sponsor a blood drive on Saturday October 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at the VFW Hall Felicity. Blood will go to Veterans Hospital Cincinnati with a VA Dayton bloodmobile staffed by hospital doctors and nurses. Louis J Schwartz chairs the drive with Everett Rigdon Ralph A Houghton and Jay J Sherwood on the committee.

Strippers Need Work In Tobacco in Batavia

Joseph M. Russo of the Ohio State Employment Service says he has workers experienced in tobacco stripping available now and says growers can contact the Batavia office. The Goshen PTA meeting Tuesday evening Nov 1 features the industrial arts class program Signals for Safety chaired by Lawrence Hartshorn Jr and George Dunning Jr with the Goshen Men's Chorus. Pack 433 Holds Regular Meeting Halloween Party

Pack 433 and Pack 443 America Cub Scouts will hold a regular monthly meeting in the school cafeteria on Halloween evening. Market Owner Sells Batavia Store To Spaulding

Chris Haller announced the sale of Quality Meat Market on Main Street Batavia to Howard Spaulding former Dorsey’s Thrift E Market operator. Spaulding plans Spaulding's Market opening Friday Oct 28 with groceries and meats. Elizabeth Hodges and Imogene Brown will join as associates. Spaulding lives east of Batavia on State Route 74 and is known as a sportsman and hunting dog trainer.

Farmers Union To Elect Officers At Clermont Meeting

The Clermont County Farmers Union will hold its monthly meeting at 8 p m on Tuesday November 1 at the Williamsburg Community Building. Officers will be elected and discussion will cover the 1956 fertilizer supply and a new membership drive for next year.

Bridge Opens for Auto Traffic in Loveland

The Little Miami River bridge in Loveland opened to auto traffic on Saturday October 22 after months of anticipation since July. Foundations were reinforced and new flooring sidewalks and side rails added. The temporary crossing is no longer in use.

Local librarians prepare for the Tri State Library Conference in Cincinnati November 3 through 5 at the Netherland Plaza Hotel. Howard P. Uible of Beth el is convention treasurer with Ohio Indiana and Kentucky library groups planning joint sessions and tours of the Memorial Public Library. Estimated attendance exceeds 1200 delegates with headliners from across the country and the three states.

M S G t Norman L Lightner of Bethel a 19 year Army veteran now stationed at Tok yo Army Hospital Japan heads to Monterey California to study Russian at the Army Language School He is the son of Mrs Clara Craycraft Route 2 Bethel Lightner served as personnel chief clerk of the 8059th Army Unit and arrived in Japan in November 1954.

The Williamsville Tabasco Civic Association reschedules its October meeting to Thursday Oct 27 at 8 pm in Civic Hall at Williamsville Fire Department. Juvenile Ring In Jail Two Sought in Clermont County

Eight Clermont County juveniles were taken into custody Monday on burglary and delinquency charges. Two other members of the ring were being sought. A 17 year old youth in Bethel area led to the arrests as Bethel police investigated gasoline thefts from parked cars. They admitted to looting homes in Bethel and New Richmond and stealing gas from cars, barns, and yards in Felicity and Bethel. Some had prior cases. two served time at the Boys Industrial School in Lancaster Ohio. One youth admitted burning fodder on a highway near Bethel. a farmer fired a warning shot but no injuries occurred.

The Batavia Business Men's Association announces Dr Stephen Abraham will open a general practice on Main Street ground floor. Hungarian trained physician from University of Budapest, with experience in obstetrics and internal medicine, previously with several St Louis hospitals. He and his wife will reside above the office. hours start Nov 1: Mon Tue Wed Fri Sat 1–3 pm and 6–8 pm. mornings for house calls and hospital work. office closed Thursdays and Sundays.
