Magnitude items belonging to Crane were found, Joslin jailed awaiting grand jury action. Roberts seeks reelection as sheriff on the Republican ticket.

A women only masquerade at the armory last Friday evening drew a public crowd and was enjoyed by attendees. Receptions were not aligned with the cost, but the committee made good on the event.

Absent Voters Ballot Demand In Election Year

The absent voters ballot is in high demand as residents away from polling places vote in person or by mail. Clerk S N Larkin reports 300 votes cast by Tuesday noon. Eligible voters may obtain ballots until Friday night November 2. Ballots will be delivered to presiding judges on Saturday November 3.

Without A Death. The Birthday Club of Williams burg met at the home of Mrs. Hat tie Davidson last Thursday evening where a fine dinner was enjoyed and time was spent socially. The club has 18 members and is 18 years old and has never lost a member by death. Meetings are anticipated with pleasure and hostesses strive to outdo each other in catty hospitality.

Date Set for Hearing on Railroads Fertilizer Rates Suit

An October 80 hearing date was set for the request by railroads for an injunction against the Interstate Commerce Commission order cutting fertilizer freight rates in Ohio and neighboring states. The temporary rates take effect December 6. The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation filed the original complaint.

Obituary: Jesse D. Gray of Sinking Spring Dies at 68

Jesse D. Gray longtime Sinking Spring resident died Saturday October 18 1928 at age 68. Funeral services were held at his home Monday at 10 30 then the remains were taken to Felicity for further rites with burial at Sewanie cemetery. Survived by widow Jennie Moorhead Gray daughter Katherine H Gray of Felicity and son Charlie F Gray of Detroit Michigan.

On October 20 1928 at 2 pm George R Shaw of Cincinnati and Edith May Deem daughter of Sherman Deem Batavia were married by Rev E Burdsall at his Batavia home. Attendants were Herbert Deem and Della Shaw who presented the ring. A dinner followed and the couple will reside in Cincinnati.

Women Voters Meet at Bethel Republican HQ

About seventy five Republican women gathered at Bethel for a timely meeting organized in twenty four hours. Chairwoman Mrs Ruie Brown led the session with talks by Clara Andre State Central Committee member and Kearns from Amelia along with county candidates. Mrs Roberts of Columbus discussed organizing while the group expressed harmony and unity.

Tobacco buyers scour Clermont county for 26c sales

Buyers travel through Clermont county offering 26 cents for tobacco and making purchases. A number of sales occurred near Batavia last week as participants praised the good price and wished for more stock. United Brethren members caravaned to Hamilton Sunday to hear former pastor Rev. J. W. Semrau preach.
