A native of the county he served as deputy probate judge and president of the county board of deputy supervisors of elections. He was a prominent Mason Universalist Democrat and a man of literary taste. Funeral services were held Sunday at his home with Masonic rites and Rev. Geo Lee delivering the sermon. He leaves a widow and three children.
