Clermont County to seek 82000 relief bonds on ballot
Clermont County officials voted to place an 82000 relief bond issue on the November 5 election ballot to fund the county's share of relief if federal aid ends. The bonds, authorized under the Carey Bill, will be repaid from utilities excise taxes and not charged to county property. Delegation includes Auditor Blythe Jones, Deputy Luther Kestel, Commissioners Willis Ross Seyler, Senator Nichols, Representative Hayden, and Clermont Sun editor D W Roberts.

Two Stills Seized In County Raid Near Loveland
State liquor agents and Sheriff G. G. Auxier raided a Smith Road house between Loveland and Goshen. Elmer Comberger and Marie Taylor pled guilty. Comberger fined 1000 dollars and six months jail with most suspended. Taylor fined 200 dollars and 30 days jailed with suspension if she leaves the county in ten days. Seized were two 42 gallon stills, 110 gallons of mash, part of another still, a small amount of whiskey and five gas burners.

Four Clermonters in Akron Road Crash Near Lebannon
Four Loveland residents returning from Akron were injured when their car skidded on a sharp curve on Kings Mills road three miles south of Lebanon. Laura Long 48 suffered a crushed skull and remained unconscious at Blair Hospital. Laverne Bunnell wife of auto dealer Leonard Paul Bunnell sustained fractures in two bones of her right arm but was not in serious condition. The two women stayed at the hospital. Bunnell and Paul Thomssen were cut and bruised but returned home.

Corn Husking Contest Set for October Near Williamsburg
The County Corn Husking Contest will be held at Walter Cowdrey’s farm two miles northeast of Williamsburg on Saturday October 26 starting at 10 00 am. Edenton man charged in first degree murder indictment
Charles Conway, 69, labeled a squatter along a creek near Edenton, faces a first degree murder indictment by the Clermont County grand jury. He allegedly killed 18 year old Charles Fawley in a corn field near Edenton with premeditated malice. Fawley died in Bethesda hospital six days after being shot in October. Former Probate Judge N. Guilty Verdict in Chicken Theft Case In Cincinnati
Guilty verdict returned by a common pleas court jury after two hours ten minutes for Della Evans and Pearl Pittman two southern girls who migrated to Cincinnati charged with burglary in the May 17 1935 theft of eleven chickens from George Taylor Nicholsville. Afton Coal Dealer Wins Clermont County Contract
Afton coal dealer George Pribble of Afton Ohio was awarded a contract to furnish Clermont County with a car load of Pocahontas coal. Pribble bid $3.97 per ton, the lowest bid tabulated by the County Commissioners on Monday. The commissioners also awarded Walter Hogan of Milford a contract to repair a culvert on Round Bottom Road at the William Davis farm for $110.21 per the surveyor's estimate.

Funeral Held for V O Lytle Retiree Mail Carrier
Funeral services for V O Lytle aged 65 a rural nail carrier from Bata via office were held at the residence Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev Budd. Burial followed at Green Lawn Cemetery Milford. Surviving are widow Nellie Hodges Lytle daughter Louise Lytle Anstaett and grandson Donald Lytle Anstaett. He served in the mail service 29 years and was to retire November 1 if he had lived. A tribute by friend E C Ely was read at the service. A large attendance of friends and relatives attended the rites.

Cincinnati man pleads not guilty in fatal Route 62 crash
Carl Corbin of Hopkins Street Cincinnati and former New Richmond resident faced arraignment on unintentional manslaughter charges. Bail set at 500 dollars as he remains hospitalized for a fractured skull.
