Amelia voters to renew four-mill school levy
Amelia School District residents will vote November 2 on renewing a three-mill operating levy plus one additional mill for a total of four mills. Fire on Wooden Bridge Bogus Attack Reported
On the Edenton Pleasant Plain road Saturday evening a group described as shoodlums tried to burn a wooden bridge covered with bituminous treatment. Old autos were piled on the span and set afire, causing surface damage. Hartman Deel led cleanup and debris removal. Earlier, corn shocks were set ablaze on Ester Pringle's farm nearby.
