District W.S.C.S. Meet to Be Held in Felicity

The fall meeting of Wil mington Districts Woman's Society of Christian Service Group 1 will take place October 28 at the Felicity Methodist Church Ohio. Clermont Lodge Receives Citation and Planned Events

Clermont Lodge No. 49 I C O F Milford received a citation from Miss Emeline Gatch presented by Lucian Lowell. Chester Mundhead accepted the citation and talks highlighted its value. Mrs Hoyt Airey to Host Batavia Women's Club Meeting

Mrs Hoyt Airey will host the Batavia Women's Club gathering on Thursday afternoon October 21 at 2 20. Roll call will feature quotations from James Whitcomb Riley. Milligan Attacks Lausche In New Richmond Rally

Ohio Commerce Director Fred J. Milligan condemned Lausche and the New Deal during a Clermont County Republican Club rally at New Richmond school. He contrasted Herbert’s record on school funding, tax cuts, highway construction, and bridge projects with Lausche, urging continued support for the Herbert administration and tax relief.

Highway Patrol Seeks Applicants for Recruit School

State Highway Patrol invites applications for a recruit school in Columbus during a month announced by Gov. George Mingle and Superintendent. Local young men may apply at the State Highway Garage in Batavia every Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. or at the Georgetown patrol office. Cpl. H. V. Wilson leads the program.

Amelia voters to renew four-mill school levy

Amelia School District residents will vote November 2 on renewing a three-mill operating levy plus one additional mill for a total of four mills. Enrollment has risen about 25 percent in two years, prompting more faculty and higher operating costs. Four new rooms are being added to the high school. Fire on Wooden Bridge Bogus Attack Reported

On the Edenton Pleasant Plain road Saturday evening a group described as shoodlums tried to burn a wooden bridge covered with bituminous treatment. Old autos were piled on the span and set afire, causing surface damage. Hartman Deel led cleanup and debris removal. Earlier, corn shocks were set ablaze on Ester Pringle's farm nearby.

The Ow ensville F H A held its second meeting on Oct 11 at the school. Plans for the regional event on Nov 3 in Owensville were discussed and a special meeting on Oct 20 will plan the regional gathering.

Clermont County Pomona Grange schedules a meeting in Williamsburg on Oct 30 at 8 pm with Williamsburg Grange hosting. Milford Legion Installs Officers in Public Ceremony

Victor Stier Post No 450 American Legion and the Women’s Auxiliary held installations last Monday in Milford Town Hall Chamber of Commerce room. New Legion officers include Vogt as Commander and Brooking as First Vice Commander, with Hill, Fox, Wiggins, and others named to five year terms. Halloween Parade Highlights Clermont County Event

The Rotary Club Halloween party features a torchlight parade from the schoolhouse at 7 30 p m Saturday Oct 30 through downtown Batavia ending at the Armory. Milford PTA talks of two contests at 8 p m Wednesday meeting. One is the Presidents Prize and the other the Membership Contest running from tonight to the PTA Carnival on December 29. President Mrs Loring Myers reports 388 paid members so far, up from 181 last year due to publicity and a strong membership drive.
