Angus Hills Calf Wins Grand Champion at Ohio Feeder Show

The 590 lb Angus calf from Angus Hills Farms Loveland captured the Grand Champion Feeder Steer at the first all Ohio Feeder Show and Sale in Columbus on October 7. The animal sold for 65 cents per pound to George Tomlinson of London. Calves from across Ohio contributed to the first annual sale at the Ohio Exposition Center.

Vietnam Hero Moore Receives Distinguished Service Cross

Lt. Joseph W. Moore of Williamsburg and Fairborn, Ohio and a Green Beret veteran earns the DSC for extraordinary heroism in Vietnam. He led a heliborne assault near Bong Son, twice wounded yet continued leading, pulling wounded to cover and throwing a grenade away from friends. He killed four and captured four, then led four more attacks despite ongoing fire and medical refusal. Moore arrived as a staff sergeant, later earned a battlefield commission, holds Bronze Star with Valor, Purple Heart three times, and is to report to Ft. Benning after 30 days. His family includes wife and two children Jody and Cindy.

Clermont County has an estimated population of 105 441 as of January 1 1967 ranking 19th in Ohio per Ohio Development Department data. Sewer Project Moves in Felicity Area Near New Plant

Clermont County Commissioners approve a 515000 sewer system for Felicity area to enable a Clasgens relocation. The project will be funded 360500 by a development grant and 154500 via revenue bonds, tied to the J H Clasgens Co relocation of part of its woolen yarn operation to a 15 acre Felicity site.

Scioto officials visit Clermont. bids open for fuel oil

Clermont County Commissioners hosted Scioto counterparts including Commissioner Mauutel and Wilbur Rose. They discussed the county airport, toured buildings, and reviewed fuel oil bids led by Albers Oil Co at 10.95 per 100 gallons. Additional bids came from Standard Oil and Sinclair Refining. Marathon Oil did not bid.

Two Clermont County seniors die in weekend highway crashes

An 88 year old Goshen man, Edgar N. Scott, died at the scene after a head on collision on SR 28 near Mt. Repose caused by 45 year old James A. Brummett who escaped injury and will face charges. A separate Sunday crash near Williamsville killed 62 year old Mary L. Donnellon, a former actress, as Haxel Hubbard’s eastbound car hit her walking path. A third victim, Virgil Hammann, 49, of Mt. Washington, was badly hurt when his car struck a tree and a concrete abutment on Amelia Ol ive Branch Road near SR 125.

Hope Idea Wins Award in Cancer Society Event

Mrs. Faye Eckart of Williamsville received the Merit Award from Gustave L. Juengling I, chair of the Ohio Division American Cancer Society, for proposing the "Ray of Hope" yellow carnation symbol. The Clermont County Unit trustee helped with Carnation Day funded by Fair Meadow Garden Club and Plant & Pick Club Milford. Charles P. Woods, president of the local unit, supported the idea.
