Executive director and staff volunteers moved the bookmobile to the scene of a public library and donated it to the DSA when daily use repairs became too costly. Four thousand dollars in repairs and remodeling, largely done by volunteers, left a unit valued at about one hundred thousand dollars, according to Conover. Some interior partitions and shelving work remains.
Clermont County Planning Commission weighs six rezoning requests for Oct. 22, with five from Union Township. Proposals include 10.42 acres in Miami Township seeking I-A light industrial with a fronting green strip, a B-7 planned business for a used car lot near Union Township, M-2 general industrial for a 44.77 acre tract, a B-7 plan for a Groescher Subdivision corner lot, and a half acre at Mt. Carmel Tabasco and Sonny Lane for office residence use, plus extensions to Blick Lane advancing serve for the Blick property.
Clermont County prosecutor George E. Pattison helped lead a 27 member Ohio commission tasked with studying child support. Over nine months the group held weekend sessions to identify more than two dozen problems and craft concrete recommendations. They urged counties to establish single collection agencies and to install statewide computerized records to track cases and payments. Pattison noted current data gaps hinder enforcement and that rapid improvement would come only with organized programs, adequate staff, and data systems.
