State Dept of Health guidance advises immediate bed rest at first chills and fever, warm clothing, open windows, bowel relief meds, nourishing meals, and physician supervision. It stresses masking, isolation, hygiene, minimal visitor contact, and careful handling of laundry and dishes for households with influenza patients.
The women of Clermont County townships raise 75,367 dollars for the 4th Liberty Loan, reaching 159 percent of the county quota. Totals by township include Batavia 16,860 Williamsburg 15,900 Loveland 11,260 Franklin 7,760 and others. Milford and Washington reports pending.

News of Germany surrender reached Batavia last Saturday between 11 and 12 oclock. The town paraded in celebration with bells, bands, gun sports and electric lights. Citizens of all ages showed patriotism, crowds gathered in streets, and the echoes of celebration were heard for miles.
The Batavia school board decided to resume operations next Monday after last Friday's meeting. No influenza cases have been reported so far, though conditions may change. Staff are to be prepared for school unless further orders are issued.
