A 56-year-old Loveland man was hit by a train late Monday night. He was pushed into gravel by the train and taken to Bethesda North Hospital where he was admitted to the cardiac unit. condition reports were not available.
The Glen Este High School Purple Pride marching band placed third in Class AA at Nippert Stadium during Music Bowl IV last Saturday. Despite being the smallest ensemble, they outscored the defending Class AA champions and defeated three bands that had previously beaten them in Dayton earlier this season.
Herbert L. Wheatley 71 died at Jewish Hospital on Wednesday Oct 7. Survived by sons Bill and Bert Wheatley step son Robert Ireton two daughters Edith F Roeder Blanche E Hamblin sister Mrs Lucille Hunt twelve grandchildren one great grandchild. Preceded by wife Mildred Treton Wheatley. Services held at T P White and Sons Funeral Home Mt Washington Saturday Oct 10 with burial Mt Moriah Cemetery Withamsville.
A Friday night two car collision on SR 132 between Amelia and New Richmond left two dead and three injured. Victims named include Michael P. Back 25 and Jinny Loe 16. Others injured were James Reed Randy Buck and Bowman. Buck was driving southbound when he left his lane and collided with Reed’s northbound vehicle. Reed, Moore and Bowman were hospitalized at Bethesda North, with Moore in serious condition and Bowman in cardiac care unit.
