Death of Mrs. Theresa Mount Lee at 96 in Batavia
Mrs Theresa Mount Lee aged ninety six died at her Batavia home. Born in Ohio she moved to Batavia as an infant and lived there all her life. She married George Sommers Lee in 1838, had eight children, five survived to adulthood. Survived by three children Norman Albertine and George S. Lee, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral from residence with Rev T J Simpson of the Presbyterian Church officiating and burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Oldest Clermont Woman Sara Weaver Dead at 98
Mrs. Sarah Weaver, Clermont's oldest resident, died at her son Jacob's home near Amelia after years of illness. Mother of Jesse Weaver, she and husband John Weaver moved to the county from Hillsboro about 80 years ago. John died at 104. Burial was in Amelia on Friday.

Lloyd Stump an 80 year old Milford druggist died when the auto he rode in with James Buckingham went over an embankment below Plainville on the Bramble Hill after lights failed during descent from Cincinnati. Buckingham escaped after three hours of effort. Stump was pronounced dead at the scene and buried at Miamiville.

Former Batavian Augustus C Johnson to Stand Trial in Cincinnati
Augustus C Johnson formerly of Batavia now in Milford faces embezzlement charges from Fifth Third National Bank. Shortage led to his disappearance for months before capture and return. Described as a nervous wreck, he worked as a clerk and allegedly lived beyond his means. Some of his papers are reportedly in the hands of Batavians as worthless. Elizabeth Jamieson hosted the Blue Birds girls society at her home last Friday with games and contests.

Clermont county school superintendents held their first monthly meeting on September 30 at 8 30 A M in the county superintendent office. They discussed the State course of study and recommended using Hamilton arithmetic three book series Baldwin and Benders eight book readers and the Aldine language manual. Jury Reports Ten True Bills From Grand Jury Session
After four days of deliberation 129 witnesses were examined by the grand jury, 96 called and ten true bills reported with one sealed. Jurors cost $354.40 for witnesses and $135 for jury fees plus court expenses. Indictments include incest, failure to provide for a minor, burning property with intent to prejudice insurer, grand larceny and receiving stolen property, forgery, uttering forged checks, and breaking into a chicken house with intent to steal. One sealed indictment.

Fire in Batavia House Sparks Near Disaster
Friday evening a gasoline stove in H. S. Moore’s residence spilled more fuel than could burn causing a brief house fire. Neighbors quickly extinguished the flames. The store had served the area for years. Loss fully covered by insurance.
