Henry Family Wedding Unites Catherine and Francis Colonel

Miss Catherine Henry and Mr. Francis Colonel wed in St. Peter's Catholic Church in a Saturday ceremony officiated by Rev. Arthur Ruthman. Attendants were Josephine Henry and Francis Colonel. A reception followed at Ye Olde English Tavern. The couple will live in Columbus, Ohio, where Colonel is employed. Mrs Colonel previously worked at J. & H. Clasgens in New Richmond.

Women’s Society Holds First Regular Meeting

The Women’s Society of Christian Service held its first regular meeting at Amelia Methodist church. Officers elected at the charter meeting include President Mrs. R. A. Cropyer and numerous secretaries, with 54 charter members currently enrolled.

Spencer-Glaze wedding ties two families in Batavia

Miss Ruth Ann Spencer and Mr. Thomas P. Glaze wed at home on Saturday October 5 at 3 30 PM with Rev C R Spangler officiating. Forty guests attended the ceremony. The bride’s matron of honor was her sister Mrs Richard Patton. Dr Patton served as best man. The bride wore ivory faille taffeta with antique lace veil and carried white chrysanthemums. Mrs Glaze works as a stenographer for the County Child Welfare Department. Mr Glaze works for Glacier Springs Bottling Company. They plan a brief honeymoon in Washington DC and will reside at Craver Apartment, 4th and Spring, Batavia.

Pie Baking Contest At Batavia Grange Meeting

At the Batavia Grange meeting the home economics committee will sponsor an apple pie baking contest. Each lady should bring a pie. prizes will be awarded and the winner may enter the Pomona contest. The event occurs on Saturday October 19.
