A memorial plaque honoring Batavia high school graduates who died in World War II and the Korean conflict will be presented at 3 p.m. Sunday October 10 by Harry A. Kahle for the Batavia Rotary Club. The plaque will be placed in the new Batavia school building with Superintendent Paul L. Hopping in charge and Dr. John D. Millett of Miami University delivering the dedicatory address. The Frank Weaver Post American Legion and Clermont County VFW Post will participate.

Two Suspects Held in Hillsboro For Local Tavern Lootings
Two men, John Trivett aged 27 and Russell Taylor aged 23, are jailed in Hillsboro on suspicion of a $100 service-station robbery and are also tied to lootings at Frontier Tavern east of New Richmond, Mt Holly Tavern, and Lakeview Tavern. Vending machines, cigarettes, and liquor were stolen. Trivett has parole status after a Cincinnati conviction. Taylor was previously sentenced for assaulting the sheriff and escaping.

Batavia Cub Scout Pack 127 handed a check totaling just under one hundred dollars to the National Polio Foundation after a polio carnival.
