Grant Home Reopens At Original Site In Ohio

A crowd estimated at five thousand witnessed the dedication of U. S. Grant's birth cabin, moved from Columbus to its original site in Pt. Pleasant. Myers Y. Cooper led remarks praising Grant's peace rooted in justice, with attendance by Colonel U. S. Grant III and C. W. H. Ruhe among others.

District Rally Of Brotherhood In Blanchester

Clermont County Brotherhood plans for a District Brotherhood Rally in Blanchester on Monday night October 26. A 100-member quota is set for the Clermont delegation. Principal speaker is Dr. Merton Rice of Detroit Michigan on the topic Take Care of That Boy. An eight‑member singing group from Greenfield Ohio will also perform.

Vendors Delinquent on Sales Tax Returns in Clermont County

Clermont County vendors who failed to file for January to June 1936 face possible license revocation after 90 days. John Hart, local sales tax examiner, will assist at the Batavia treasurer’s office on October 13 and 14. If unavailable, send a card to Hart in Batavia to obtain a return for filing with the Tax Commission in Columbus.

Harvest Home Festival Planned at Mt Carmel Church

Harvest Home Service will be held at Mt Carmel Presbyterian Church next Sunday evening at 8 p.m. Summerside Ladies Aid organizes a chicken supper on October 15 with adults 40 cents and children under 12 at 25 cents. Rev. Thomas will lead the service and welcomes all.

Red Cross First Aid Class in New Richmond Receives Certificates

Seven members of the Red Cross First Aid Class of New Richmond completed the course and were awarded certificates from National Red Cross Headquarters in Washington. Dr. W. W. Meade taught the class, and the graduates include Tom Hall, William Ireton, Charles Schenz, Arthur Conner, Raymond Sellers, Harold Viceroy, and George Wehman who plan to form a Red Cross First Aid Unit for emergency response.

The Frank Weaver Post American Legion held its annual officer installation Monday night at the Batavia Armory. Clermont Oil and Gas Company opens stock books

The Clermont Oil and Gas Company, formed to test drill and develop oil and gas in Clermont and nearby counties, will open its stock books on Saturday October 10 for 150 shares at 50 dollars each. Grange Sixth Degree to Be Conferred at Bethel School

Ohio State Grange officers will confer the sixth degree at Bethel School Auditorium Friday October 16 at 8 p.m. A class of two hundred or more candidates is expected. Applications for the sixth degree will be accepted then. Those without the fifth degree may be obligated at 7 30 p.m. Publicity Committee. Williamsburg Grange held booster night September 26 with about 150 Grangers and visitors enjoying readings, music and a pie and coffee lunch. At the October 3 meeting Mrs. Margaret Liming received a work award. An aluminum demonstration is planned for October 10 by the Grange.
