About fifty Donham family members gathered at Mrs Hiley Conner in New Richmond Ohio on October 1 1914 to celebrate friendships wedding news of Arthur Conner and Doris Kain Conner and birthdays of Helen Conner Ella Hancock and R W Denham. Relatives shared lunch recitations by Helen Conner and Maggie Corbly and social time ended at sunset with goodbyes to Kentucky hills. Participants listed include Denham White Conner Kain and Corbly families from New Richmond Amelia Bantam Mentor Cincinnati Batavia and Batavia. The notice ends urging votes for C H Sipes for recorder.
The Clermont County Club of Amelia invites friends to a Halloween party at Mrs. J. C. Gaskins home Saturday October 81. A luncheon of sandwiches coffee doughnuts and baked beans will be served for 10 cents with proceeds benefiting Amelia communities.
The county board of school examiners held the last teachers examination of 1914 under the new law with 22 applicants. Certificates will be dated September 1, 1916, and no more exams will be held until January. The county extension school remains a little-discussed issue locally.

The Helping Circle of Old Bethel church met at Mr. and Mrs. Gus Wolf’s home for a regular business session. Attendees included Elmer Ely Cliff Justice Thos Houston W B Christy and wives Andrew Wolf and sister Rosa Mrs Thomas Brooks and daughter Mrs Chas Morehead and daughter Mrs Fletcher and daughter. A generous dinner followed in the dining room with two tables of well prepared food. Afterward the men toured the Wolf farm and viewed horses cattle and hogs before returning for music and a free will offering.
Last Saturday Loveland hosted a dedication for a new Little Miami river bridge after the old structure washed away. The concrete and iron flood proof span drew residents from Warren, Hamilton and Clermont counties. A timely parade, schoolchildren music, county addresses, and both day and night fireworks closed the event.
William A. Joseph campaigns for the common pleas judge seat. He is described as justly entitled to the office and running on a platform of qualifications and merit.

The 47th annual reunion of the 59th regiment was held in Felicity last Saturday with a large attendance. Provisions were made for the entertainment of the veterans and friends. weather was fine and the event a success. About 52 members attended, some quite feeble, while others have passed away since the last reunion. The program included songs by the Augusta Band, recitations by Miss Martha Watson and Miss Cecil Hendrixson, a letter from Frank H. Woon, and various readings and prayers led by Rev. D. Lee Aultman among others.

The first meeting of the Woman's Club for the year gathered thirty members at Mrs. Jennie Titus's home. Members answered roll call about vacations, Chautauqua season, and the Centennial Home Coming. Roy D. Goodwin of Bethel and Mildred Bretz of Felicity were married last week. Goodwin is sales manager for Louisville Realty & Development Co. with Michigan headquarters. They receive many friends' best wishes.
A sequence of injuries reports from Amelia and nearby towns: Mrs. Lafe Nash falls on her porch and breaks a leg, dislocates a hip and sustains other injuries. Ralph Johnson breaks a leg at a Madisonville football game. Dora Merriott loses a foot and faces disfigurement after stepping off a car in California. Frank Yeoman sustains likely fatal injuries and Earl Nichols suffers lighter harm after a motorcycle crash at Hill's Station.
Henry Bergeman of Miami township sued after buying a race horse in Cincinnati that turned out not to be the same animal. Mrs Rose P Edwards of Milford sued James Holm for a mare misrepresented as to age wind and limb, which died soon after arrival. One horse is dead the other untraceable so neither can be produced in court. These horse cases are costly even if won.
Wilmington residents prepare for a three day fall festival on October 15 16 and 17 with county fair style exhibits and premiums. Committees are set and arrangements nearly complete as organizers expect the event to be Wilmingtons greatest. Seaman Ohio also schedules a fall festival for October 27 and 28 with similar plans.
