Fischer Family Reaches New Orleans After Gulf Cruise

The Courier notes Bill and Vernice Fischer left New Richmond August 26 in a self made cabin cruiser and arrived in New Orleans en route through the Gulf of Mexico. They are continuing their journey southward.

Live Oaks Dedication Held Sunday

Dedication ceremonies were held at three of the four facilities in the Great Oaks Joint Vocational School District in separate events Sunday. Leaders including Allen Lloyd and State Rep. Norman Murcock spoke on vocational education balancing academics and inclusive benefits, with bands providing music and a color guard at Milford. The district serves about 600,000 people in Southwestern Ohio and is funded by a $1.85 per $1,000 tax rate atop a $2.3 billion tax duplicate.
