County Extends New Home Economics Agent
Mrs Ruth Pratt native of Salem Ohio became county extension agent home economics in Clermont County Monday The appointment was recommended to Ohio State University Board of Trustees by the Clermont County Extension Advisory Committee Pratt holds a degree in home economics and education from Ohio Wesleyan University and has two summers of extension work in Trumbull County.

Court Orders Permanent Injunction Against Drag Strip
Judge John H. Houston of Brown County issued a permanent injunction prohibiting the proposed Nicholsville drag strip. Court rules against Clermont County planners in Cherry Grove case

Wanted Man Cuts Wrist At Batavia Hotel
Calvin E. Learned, 22, slashed his left wrist in a suicide attempt at a Batavia hotel last Thursday. He was returned to Peoria by U.S. Marshals as a parole violator. Learned had been sentenced for selling stolen Army drivers licenses. He was treated at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital with 42 stitches.

Batavia Loots Hit Twice In Night Burglary
In Batavia on Monday night burglars broke in at Marty's Record and Hobby Shop at 224 Main St by raising a front window. They stole rare coins valued at 300 face but worth 1000 and a 22 dollar transistor radio, placing coins in a shopping bag that broke before thieves moved loot in three record boxes. Russell Martin, owner, says no theft insurance. Nearby Elk Cafe at 216 Main St also reported coin rolls stolen after breaking a rear door window.

Goshen High School led County Band Day at the Clermont County football field with wins in preview performance and marching division and in the half time show.
