Life of Hon. W. C. Mellen Ends at Milford
Hon. W. C. Mellen of Milford died at home in Pleasant View on Monday in his 85th year. Born in Hollister Massachusetts he studied law in Cincinnati and Clermont County practiced with Judge Cowen and co executor in the Rebecca Townsend estate. He married Angeline Brewster in 1857 and had one surviving child Emma C. Mellen. Known and respected in Clermont he left many friends to mourn his passing.

Brown county pioneers met in Georgetown last Saturday for a reunion with old men aged at least 15 participating. A grove dinner followed, and attendees lingered long due to superb food and teething limits. The eldest were 87 for men and 91 for women, with Mrs. John Punt arranging the event. Circus Clown Lamont Dies Bullets Blows After Attack
Fred Lamont a famed circus clown with Robinsons show was struck on the head at Worcester Indiana last Wednesday night and died after being taken to Terrace Park headquarters. The 34th O. V. I. reunion drew seventy Sith veterans plus the G A R post and townsfolk to Amelia’s G A R Hall.
