Deputies Hartke and Grover Fox surprised a Cincinnati man caught stealing apples at Day Fruit Farm in Mt. Carmel at 4 a.m. September 25. The owner identified the fruit as from his orchard and the matter was settled out of court with a warning to the offender.

Oliver Perry South born December 22, 1858 near Monterey Ohio died September 20, 1929 in Williamsburg Ohio aged 70 years and nine months. He married Martha Daugherty in 1878 who died May 19 1922. Car lands in creek after runaway starts in town
The car belonging to Stanley Patti son started on its own last Friday and plunged into East Fork creek. The starter jammed but the vehicle struck Mrs. Gomien's fence and an iron pump before skirting a garden and trees, rolling into deep water. It stopped with no damage beyond fright and was pulled back to the road and resumed business.

Not Serious Accident in Williamsburg Involves Peerless Truck
A Saturday morning collision at Fuhr's corner Main Street injured no one besides a scare. George Bernstein, driver of the Peerless Creamery milk truck, and Mrs Mildred Horn back escaped harm as her car sustained minor damage. Bernstein had survived a fatal wreck weeks earlier but escaped with only minor injuries. Rape Charge Against Williamsburg Men Jailed
John Binkley and Robert Colvin of Williamsburg were arrested on Monday charged with rape by Dorothy Smith. They waived examination before Squire Larkin and were bound over to the grand jury in $10,000 each, now jailed. Sheriff Roberts and deputies brought them in.
