CLERMONT LADY IN CHICAGO DIES AT HOME IN 1912

The death of Mrs. Anna, wife of John Wayland, occurred at her Chicago home on September 24, 1912. She was the second daughter of Mr and Mrs H V Kerr, formerly owners of the property now Wendell Kline and wife. Survived by husband three children mother and sister Mrs Willis Cowen of Chicago. Remains laid to rest in a suburb cemetery.

Bert Mansfield Dies in Denver Home Visit

In Denver Colorado T B Mansfield known as Bert and a former batavia boy died at his home last week. His father and brother Will were with him at the time of death. The remains were interred in Denver.

RIPLEY CELEBRATES GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY OF Seventh Ohio Cavalry

Ripley hosted a three day reunion for surviving members of the Seventh Ohio Cavalry and their families marking 60 years since muster out. Mayor L V Williams presented a bronze key to the veterans as crowds lined decorated streets, with music, talks, and a banquet. Helen Holmes Rush was named a daughter of the regiment.

Batavia's Oldest Masons T D Fitch and Edwin S Perkins

Colonel T. D. Fitch now in Troy Ohio long published this paper and is among Batavia lodge’s oldest Masons. He was initiated September 2 1865 passed December 2 1865 raised January 27 1866. Edwin S Perkins raised January 6 1866, 21 days before Fitch, making Perkins the oldest Mason by that margin. Both men are well preserved and content with life.

Williams burg and Norwood boys win hard fought game

The Norwood Blues and Williamsburg ball teams met Saturday in Williamsburg with the Burg boys winning 11 to 8. Williamsburg pitchers Hoffman and Frazier held Norwood’s line while Norwood’s Winklerman and Lathrop took the loss. Next game set for October 5 in Batavia.
