Goldwater visits Blanchester drawing large crowd

Clermont County residents greet Sen Barry Goldwater during a whistle stop in Blanches ter. Five local GOP candidates were introduced from the platform Charles Tilbury for prosecutor Harry Kahle for commissioner Don Watson for sheriff Harry Danner for State representative and George Sidwell for clerk of courts. About 5000 people attended as Goldwater blasted the Humphrey ticket and ADA alignments while supporters from Clinton Highland and nearby counties joined the turnout.

Batavia begins receiving natural gas as Mayor Richard Jamieson starts the flow into city lines. CG&E officials Al fred A. Becker George H. Day and Albert J. TB Cases and Deaths Reported in Clermont County 1963

Mrs. Snell notes tuberculosis caused four deaths in Clermont County in 1963. There were 17 known cases, 21 new cases, 19 patients in hospital, six at home, and 117 active cases needing attention.

U C Offers Course In Clermont County

University of Cincinnati will offer a graduate course for teachers and administrators titled Social Studies in the Elementary School. Two classes meet October 5 with one session at Owensville and another at Amelia High School. The course yields three quarter hours of credit with tuition of 18 dollars per quarter hour. Campus registration runs October 1–3 with specified daily hours.

Edwin N. Hopping son of Mr and Mrs Paul Hopping joins the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Co legal department. He is a Batavia School Miami University and UC Law School graduate class of 1961. He practiced in Canton Ohio and led local civic groups. He is a Navy veteran, married with two children.

Democrats open two campaign offices in Withamsville and Amelia to distribute literature for all candidates. The headquarters at 755 Ohio Pike Withamsville and 19 W Main St Amelia will operate Monday through Saturday until Election Day November 3 according to Chairman Mike.

Real estate tax collections closed the second half with a gain of more than 500000. The total reached 3201574 dollars and the year 6622935 dollars versus 6015219 last year.
