Mobile X ray Unit Arrives Oct 15 in Clermont County

The State Mobile X ray Unit will be in Clermont County from Oct 15 to Nov 15 to screen over 10 000 people aged 18 and older for tuberculosis. H Stirling Moore of the Clermont County TB and Health Association urges screening, especially for those never X rayed before, using school health tests and the mobile unit at multiple sites across the county.

Shaw to lead new Farm Bureau program in Clermont and Hamilton

AL Vailes Shaw of Lebanon is named to head a Farm Bureau initiative in Clermont and Hamilton Counties. Mace to Send MGS Water Contracts

County water manager told the commissioners that Mace will circulate water contracts for MGS to circulators in the county. The board may use letters to instruct users on how to complete and return forms to Attorney John Watson of Clermont. The election board plans a $5000 expense to cover its work for the year amid tight appropriations and thanks county offices for cooperation. The use of a machine for voter registration keypunching was discussed to avoid buying equipment.

Amelian Soldier Receives Air Medal in Vietnam

Army Specialist Ronald L. Mounts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tennis Mounts of 20 Swan Lane Amelia, received the Air Medal from Lt Colonel Wayne N. Phillips in Vietnam ceremonies. Mounts earned the medal for completing more than 25 missions over hostile territory in support of ground forces of the Republic of Vietnam. The 21 year old entered the Army in July 1959 and was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. He attended Central High School in Cincinnati.

Laurel Township PTA Delays September Meeting

Laurel Township PTA postponed its regular meeting scheduled for September due to the construction program adding classrooms and facilities. The school now serves kindergarten through eighth grade with 190 more pupils. 12 classrooms host new teachers and staff including Mrs Haughaboo and Mrs Herald. Plans for the Fall Festival on October 26 are underway.

Williamsburg Roosters Honor Football Players Fish Fry

The Williamsburg Roosters Club will host a fish fry at Willinsburg High School on Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. to honor the football players and their parents. Mrs. Russell Anderon, publicity chairman, urges parents to buy a membership card for the club, which includes a fish supper. Regular meetings are every Thursday evening at the high school cafeteria.

Board Still Up In Air Over New Records Law

Clermont County board of health debates defining public records under a new Ohio law effective Friday. A Provocutor ruling on contempt cases is awaited. The board imposes 25 cents per copy and a 10 day response window, and continues dog quarantine and rabies vaccination. The health department outlines costs for public-record requests and lists veterinarians for future meat plant inspections. The county receives state services valued at 51,500 including a mobile X-ray unit and dental, speech, and visiting nurse programs.
