Charlene McMannis of Amelia's Denny Drive will be Miss Safety for the BMOP Fire Department during Fire Prevention Week October 4 to 10. The 16 year old junior at Amelia High School will also reign as queen of the festival October 9 to 11 at the Hamlet firehouse to open events after a motor parade. Proceeds fund a new life squad ambulance. Publicity chairman Lew Lillich urges attendance to aid safety and notes BMOP's low fire loss percentage.
