Van Buran Creager 1885 1919 Ohio farmer and public servant
Van Buran Creager was born near Bethel Clermont County Ohio on November 1 1885 and died September 14 1919 at age 33. He served as township clerk teacher and justice of the peace and fought in the Civil War era before returning to a life of civic and church service. He married in 1868 and left a wife a son two orphans and many friends. Funeral was held by W B Brown and burial at Bloom Rose cemetery on September 16 1919.

Batavia Lady Dies After Illness and Stroke
Mrs. George A. Keen died at her Broadway home Friday evening after years of poor health and a stroke of paralysis earlier in the day. She moved to Batavia from Chile two years ago and is survived by her husband two sons Will and Arch and a daughter Mrs Everett Shipp of Washington. Funeral was held Monday at 2:30 from the home with burial in Union cemetery. She was 64 years old.
