Bethel area celebrates 60th wedding anniversary of Parker couple
Bethel residents Mr. and Mrs. George Parker of 218 North Main mark sixty years of marriage on November 30. They wed on Thanksgiving Day 1899 at Bethel Methodist parsonage. she is formerly Cordelia Reynolds. They raised four sons in Bethel, Ralph serving as Clermont County clerk of courts, Paul a payroll clerk in Cincinnati, Ray a Bethel mail carrier, and Edgar a Streitman’s baker. They have eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Planners Approve Subdivision Rules For County
The planning commission approves subdivision regulations to be sent to county commissioners after edits from local realtors and builders and Bar Association wording changes. Public hearing then adoption, effective January 1. Changes include blocks lengthened to 1500 feet, street width reduced to 25 feet, and minimum rear yard raised to 35 feet.

Frank Blank of Kroger announces papers signed to speed planning for a 15 000 square foot Batavia supermarket on West Main Street beside Lewis Distributing and Sinclair. The store will have parking for 150 cars and mirror Cherry Grove Plaza in size while showcasing latest food marketing innovations. Frysinger Construction Co will build the driveway in two weeks. Betz and Vankemper prepared the plans. Construction starts soon with operations expected before October 1960.
