Tragic Fratricide Near Amelia Leaves Belle Turner Dead
On a farm near Amelia two miles away, Belle Turner was shot by her brother Aaron Turner. The incident occurred as Aaron allegedly handed the gun to George Manning while hunting. Manning fled, Everhart fled, and the coroner held an inquest. Aaron is said to be of unsound mind, and he was not arrested.

Dr George F Monro of Olive Branch Mississippi failed in a year long legal effort to gain an interest in a large Scottish estate. Granger and Hunt of Cincinnati prosecuted the claims, Hunt's Scotland trip found Monro in the direct line of descent, but the estate had passed to another due to an ancient re entail and the current owners hold a valid title under the statute of limitations.
