A Monday night fire destroyed Brown County Court House in Georgetown, burning the common pleas and probate rooms, Auditor and Clerk offices, Sheriff and Treasurer spaces. Loss to records is unspecifiable though the building may cost about 10,000 dollars. many papers saved, litigation likely.
The Beechhurst reading circle has an interesting programme arranged for Thursday night this week.
Mrs John Atchley visits relatives in Amelia and Miss Velma Needham from Owensville spends Thanksgiving with Miss Lizzie Innis. Union Thanksgiving services in M BE church featured Rev Simeon Goblet and Dr W H Sutherland. Mrs Will Kamn of Cincinnati guests of sister Mrs John Meyers. Williamsburg township teachers attend C T A in Batavia with Maggie McAdams on Thanksgiving break. Mrs John Meyers and daughter Maggie visit Cincinnati. Clermont Lodge plans grand entertainment with lecture by J Liggett and banquet at Atchley House. Nettie Ross and Katie McNutt host visitors from Marathon. Festus Thomas of Cincinnati visits local friends.

I N Plummer died at his residence Thursday after a long illness. He belonged to Co E 175th Ohio. Interment was in Vesper Cemetery by the G A R. The Rev Mr Singer paused his sermon to remind young men to be gentlemen. The old horse Kate, known as Hicky, owned by Mr Donovan, died. Mr and Mrs Haley of Walnut Hills visited Mr Tischer’s family. Buchanan Buntin, Charles Sipes and F E Hill attended Moscow Guild Society oyster supper. In the replevin case John Buntin won $15 damages. during trial lawyers and jurors smoked and chewed. Where is the dignity of the court room.
