Milford Junior and Senior High School Athletic Boosters host an antique show and sale on November 22 23 from 11 AM 6 PM at Milford High School 5735 Pleasant Hill. Items include furniture primitive glass china collectibles coins and white elephants with a 50 cent donation and refreshments available.

Sweet Adelines Queen City Chapter presents L O V E at Clermont College auditorium Batavia November 21 22 at 8 PM under Suzy Mooreheads direction with contemporary four part barbershop harmony. The Williamsburg area will hold a Thanksgiving Eve service at the Pen Tacostal Church on Tollgate Road on Wednesday November 26 at 7 30 p m The program titled Let Us Give Thanks will feature area choirs and soloists in song and worship A fund drive will be taken to assist families affected by catastrophic disasters.
The annual Harvest Bazaar and Dinner will be held at Amelia Methodist Church located at 19 East Main Street in Amelia on Saturday November 22. The bazaar runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the dinner served from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Proceeds support church activities and local missions.

A 50s dress contest and prizes including a 50 dollar savings bond attract donations for the group and a Christmas party for special children and families. In a recount spanning morning to 6 p.m., incumbent Democrat Albert Bud Hines retained the treasurer’s seat with 17 votes, a net loss of six, while challenger Walker rose to 17,228, up four from election night. Union and Miami precincts favored Walker. tabulation disputes centered on pencil marks and ballot alignment, with legal counsel arguing against hand recounts.
A 20 year old Union Township man and three juveniles were charged with armed robbery after a pursuit in Brown County. Alan Fleak of Glen Bate Withamnayille Reed is jailed in Clermont County on $20,000 bond. The 1965 Ford tied to the crime, driven on SR 62 west of Ripley, led troopers from the Georgetown Post to a chase before arrests. Details on the juveniles were not released.

Commissioners Croswell and Wiesenhahn approved Fran Schwiermann Construction bids for the Nine Mile Creek Waste Treatment project on 16.2 acres along Nine Mile Tabasco Road north of Davis Lane despite objections from Harold Away and McGill & Smith engineering concerns. Smith disavowed interest in Nine Mile property while noting his Amelia Batavia system design ties. bids came in well under estimate.
Clermont’s commissioner elect Jerry Carlier met last Tuesday with Robert Croswell and Dale Romohr to review plans for the county’s new detention facility. He notes the project is law mandated and supported by candidates, with Croswell and Romohr as Republicans. A decision on the clerk of the board will be made by all three commissioners, and swearing in is set for Jan 2 ahead of his Jan 3 start.
Commissioners choose a replacement for the present trustees Catherine Linda Wuerdeman a Democrat and the third board member. Wuerdeman says the replacement will be someone they can work with and move forward with.
