Community Collection Day aids area Christmas baskets
The Southeastern Ecumenical Ministry plans its annual Community Collection Day on Sunday December 6 to provide up to 200 gift baskets for the needy in Mt. Washington Anderson Township and Clermont County. Baskets include canned goods and a ham with jelly and cookies, aided by cash donations over a thousand dollars. SEM continues a year round food program and door to door appeals to reach the invisible poor and ensure a toy for every child. Donations and toy donations can be sent to the SEM office at 6474 Bee Avenue Cincinnati Ohio 45230.

SEM Poetry Contest Opens for Students and Adults
The sixth SEM annual poetry contest sponsored by the Creative Arts Task Force of Southwestern Ecumenical Ministry invites entries from grades 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, and adults. Prizes include 1st $10, 2nd $5, 3rd, plus five honorable mentions. Entries must be original, unpublished, one per entrant, under 30 lines, with title on the poem and category in the corner. A separate sheet must include title, first line, poet name, address, phone, and school or teacher if applicable.
