New Richmond Man Elected Clermont Red Cross Chairman

E W Lukie of New Richmond is elected chairman of the Clermont County Chapter of the American Red Cross at Batavia High School. Other officers include Henry Cushard vice chairman and Mrs Augusta Hulick executive secretary. The meeting notes a $1000 treasury increase and $30000 in Red Cross aid for flood victims.

Felicity IOOF Plans Record Class Initiation

Sevenie Lodge of Odd Fellows announces the largest initiation in its history with about 50 candidates from Clermont County. The third degree will be conferred November 22 at Felicity Franklin High School auditorium, with regional lodges and bands participating and preparations for hundreds of visitors underway.

In New Richmond 601 village votes and 800 township ballots were tallied. Mayor John B. Ginn won reelection with 291 votes, while C L McNown got 144. Former mayor William R Frye earned 96 write-ins. Village council reelects included Hartman Herbert Painter and Hinson. newcomers Strasingr and Hamilton defeated Reeves and Viceroy. Day retained village treasurer, Carnes and Hawkins won township trustees, Rutman unopposed as village clerk, and the Boards of Public Affairs and Education remained unopposed.

Felicity Mailman Retires After Thirty Years

George Halse of Bethel retired after 30 years of service as a mail carrier. He was honored at the Bethel post office with a reception at the home of Postmaster John Moore and his wife. A ring bearing the postal association emblem was presented by Bethel post office personnel.

Batavia Officer Captures Fugitive James Blanton in Ohio

Batavia chief of police August Barber finds 22 year old James Blanton at a relative's home on a secluded road near Owensville. He is delivered to Adams County sheriff and faces trial for a Seaman car theft from October 9. A second car theft occurred in Hamilton with owner Henry Bowen of Kings Mills. Blanton may be linked to a Glen Este assault but the victim did not identify him. Blanton sustained two flesh wounds from prior gunfire during the Batavia chase.

Frambers Elected Felicity Mayor In Ohio Valley Race

In Felicity Franklin Township three precincts cast 720 votes with Felicity village 300 Chile Felicity North 250. Oliver Frambers wins mayoral post while Ralph Metzger becomes vice mayor. Trustees tally shows John Constant leading the trustee field and Evans tops school board with 422 votes, all serving. VFW Auxiliary Dines World War Veterans at Longview

The Clermont County Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary sponsored a Thanksgiving dinner and entertainment at Longview Hospital in Cincinnati for World War I and II veterans who were patients there. The group distributed cigarettes, candies, and magazines to all patients after the meal.

Ladies of St Bernadette Mission Organize Sodality
