Under Mr Rigner the Batavia High School Library has been reorganized and streamlined. It holds about 3000 volumes across subjects with strong English and history divisions and grade room libraries. The memorial shelf honors donors and the library invites parents to visit during the PTA meeting next Thursday at 2 30 p m.

Ingenious 1845 Worcester carriage moves without horse power

A Worchester Mass invention renders a carriage able to travel at normal speeds with no horse power. A light frame carries three wheels and uses a passenger turned crank to propel, steered by a tiller connected to the front wheel. It weighs 50 pounds and was built in England.

World War II widow and veteran named Clermont County jury commissioners

A World War II widow Mildred Sells and a World War II veteran Carl Burger were appointed by Clermont County Common Pleas Court Judge Harry Britton as jury commissioners for two years. Sells is Okinawa widow and mother of a three year old. Burger, a decorated master sergeant, was recently discharged. They succeed James Lewis and S. L. Larkin of Batavia.

Moscow Death Claim Settled In Court

A wrongful death claim for Margaret Jarman 26 of Moscow arising from a Cincinnati building fire elevator fall was settled for 2750. Probate Judge Halbisch authorized the settlement in the estate action against John Ward Lida Green Helen Glenn and Laura Glenn filed in the U S District Court Cincinnati. Two thirds of the amount go to the parents Frank and Mrs Jarman and one third to attorney Edward Ballard.

Partial Unofficial Election Returns Across Towns

Partial unofficial results show mayoral and clerk races in several towns. Winners include Mundue-189 for mayor and Majcewsky-228 for clerk, with Hulick-225 taking treasurer in New Richland and multiple trustees elected in Williamsburg. Other votes listed for Milford Loveland and Loveland suburbs, with totals ranging around two to four hundreds.

Probate records show the Christian Congregational Church of Felicity and six cousins plus five friends share Charles C. Armacost’s $7,000 estate. The estate faced $465 inheritance tax. The ship took part in Luzon Iwo Jima Okinawa invasions and was present in Tokyo Bay at the time of the peace signing. Lees is married with two children Jo ann and Thomas Randall.
