Batavia Considering Taxi Service For Town
Batavia may soon see a taxi service as Harold Med lender Route 2 Amelia and Er nest Morrell Bethel secured permission to run two taxis one day one night. Service would start after a location is found with a 25 cent fare for up to four riders within Batavia and 25 cents per mile elsewhere. Further details and applications are available from the Commission's local secretary Mrs Moore at Batavia Post Office and Civil Service regional offices in Cincinnati.

Clermont County District Boy Scout Committee met at Batavia Court House with over 60 attendees to map the 1947 program. Russell Speidel chaired as John P. Friend noted shared field service with Brown County. only one third of the county is covered, with 593 Scouts and 340 yearly entrants. A full-time field executive was approved, with funds to be raised, to better support Troop units and Scouting aims including reverence, citizenship, personal development and outdoor programs.
