Work Progressing on N and W Railroad Bridge at Batavia
The Batavia N and W railroad bridge project advances slowly with a large workforce. Last week two channels opened in the riffle to lower water for pier work as gangs operate on both creek banks. The roadway will be wider for public travel once completed with new piers placed on fills of earth. Completion is not expected before next July as the bridge is strengthened for heavy travel.

Death of Edwin Hall in Georgetown
Edwin Hall of Georgetown was found dead at his home last Monday by his father and brother after being absent from work all day. The doors were locked, lights burning, and the body lay near the telephone, suggesting a failed attempt to reach it.
