County results show totals for President Ohio officers Supreme Judges and state offices. The county clerk notes precinct results could not be published in full due to late counting on the election night.
J R Woodlief held a 100 acre Brown County farm for 47 years near Clermont. He recently sold it to his present tenant after three tenants over the long period, a sign of good landlord relations. The piece ends with an ad for Chamberlain's Tablets praising appetite and digestion.
James C. McMath, longtime county prosecutor and local figure, is elected vice president and general manager of the Deering Harvester Co and International Harvester Co with Chicago offices. He has prior service with This Place and has been with the company for years, drawing wide congratulations from friends in the county.
Williamsburg residents protested last Thursday and Friday as Jones and Walker planned to ship in Greek workers to replace local staff. The firm moved the Greeks to Dayton after strong opposition. The plant, with Batavia operations, may relocate to Dayton soon. Walker previously ran for probate judge.
Mrs. Emmet Phillips of the Geo Behymer place near the church developed blood poisoning after a splinter pierced her finger while cleaning Union Chapel. Doctors Van Horn of Batavia and H Behymer of Amelia amputated the middle finger to halt spread and save the hand. she is recovering well.
Willa Weaver Eddy died September 2 1912 at her St Louis home after a lingering illness. She was daughter of Mrs Eulass Moreton formerly of Batavia now of San Francisco and widow of the late Willa Eulass. Heart trouble troubled her for years but loved ones could not stay the disease. She was cheerful amiable and beloved by many and leaves a husband mother and sister in mourning.
The Comet Theatre, long run by Clark Wasner and Walter Riley, passes to James Dial & Co. The theatre will stay at the same location with three shows weekly. Batavia praises its neat theatre for a town of its size. Burdock Blood Bitters advertised as remedy for impure blood and sluggish liver.
Chris Roflow of Miamiville accidentally discharged a shotgun while handling it at home. A discharged load injured his foot and a hospital amputation removed two toes to prevent infection. He is recovering but may be lame. a warning to unload firearms before leaving the field.
Milford residents awoke to a blaze October 31 as the Frame and Stone Barn and its stock of groceries burned. Firefighters saved adjoining property despite faulty hoses and a horse perishing in the flames. The origin remains unknown and locals are advised to properly dry hose after use.
In Clermont County the November 5 elections left Republicans with little strength as only three county seats changed hands. The piece urges new commissioners to fix roads and finances, noting bad bridges and muddy roads, and invites continued news coverage and public input.

Ed Ross formerly of Clermont and family planted 12 bushels of potatoes on 1 cent acre in Union county South Dakota last spring and yielded about 880 bushels. In Neville F L Donovan brother in law of Ross displays some of the tubers in his store. Can any Clermont resident top this display.
John 8. Griffith of Batavia rose from Methodist Book Concern in Cincinnati to westward travels then Wisconsin success. He became a leading lumber businessman, one fourth owner in a $150000 capital company, with two children and a respected status in his town. Also includes an ad testimonial for Deans Ointment by Mayor John R. Garrett of Girard Alabama.
Mil ford youths planned a dummy on the railroad near Milford on Halloween night. The plan aimed to frighten the express crew and passengers, but they believed they had killed a man, though the figure was only straw.
Fire destroyed a long trestle on the Cincinnati Hamilton and Dayton line near Glen Este after an engine drawing freight sparked the blaze. Firemen formed a bucket brigade when water could not reach the scene, delaying passenger service and forcing freight transfers to Batavia via the N and W. The company will rebuild the burned section and resume service at the earliest opportunity.
On Sunday November 10 1912 neighbors family and friends gathered near Bethel at the Chas Swing homestead to honor Mrs Chas Swing on her 80th birthday and celebrate the milestone of Wm L Swing the family’s last surviving elder with about 40 guests including two daughters sons and in laws. The event also marked the birthday of Mrs Chas Swing and featured a fine solo by Miss Potts of Bethel.

The Applegate House closed its doors last Thursday and owners Mr and Mrs Applegate will retire to private life at the John Robinson property on Main Street. Boarders left reluctantly and Mrs A was noted for the substantial meals she served to the public. Other hotels in town will follow suit.
