Voters across Clermont county cast a very large vote on November 8 with absent and disabled voters issued over 300 ballots. Unofficial tallies list commissioners and sheriff races along with several county offices and the clerk of courts in a broad sweep of results.
The public returns to normal after weeks of political focus. Citizens resume daily life as radio coverage of national and state politics that engaged audiences across parties winds down and prominence of speakers shifts away.
Thousands of wild ducks paused at Point Pleasant on the Ohio River for rest and feeding during their southward winter migration. The birds drew many onlookers who observed the scene peacefully before the flock continued their journey before nightfall.
Roads and Bridges acts under Governor White orders Clermont County to survey the remaining River Road reaching a hard service road along the Ohio River Route. The local office is instructed to survey the New Richmond bridge to widen and straighten the approach, reducing dangerous curves. Plans should begin immediately for early completion.
Willis was re-elected as county commissioner as Democrats won all offices in Tuesday’s election. The campaign noted a strong showing but acknowledged the loss on the statewide contest. A $90,000 bond issue in Williamsburg carried.

Rev W E Hall a southern colored Bishop spoke at the Colored Baptist church Batavia last Thursday night urging votes for the Republican ticket on November 8. A luncheon followed with church members in charge of the eats.
The 1932 33 basketball season begins November 18 with all league teams, followed by a long schedule through February. Early games feature Felicity at Amelia and Williamsburg at Batavia, with multiple matchups set across Amelia New Richmond Milford Goshen and other towns.
Ohio announces major road work across Clermont Brown and Adams counties on 1014 miles of state route 125. A 3.54 mile segment between Hamersville and the county boundary will begin after survey with an estimated cost near 50000 dollars.
A man from Parkersburg West Virginia shot his half brother Perry Thornton and his wife on a shanty boat near Neville on the Kentucky side last Monday night. The wife was wounded in the chest face and arms and taken to Maysville hospital. Sheriff Roberts and deputies helped search for the shooter. Whisky reportedly sparked the incident. The woman is not expected to live.
A six room cottage owned by Harry McAfee on East Fork was destroyed by fire Monday around 4:30 PM. Leased by Joe A. Mass of Ft. Thomas Ky, supper was cooking when an explosion was heard. Firefighters arrived too late to save the building but saved the adjacent cottage. Insurance covered part of the loss.

Miss Geraldine Smith and E. L. Carter lead the 4-H clubs in an Achievement Program at Pleasant Hill Church during the Farm Bureau meeting Friday November 11 at 8 00 p m. A general farmers topics discussion and a two reel movie will follow. Public invited.
The American Red Cross provided relief to more than 3,000,000 families across the nation in the past winter. In 143 counties the organization aided 90,000 families with groceries, clothing, flour, and other necessities. Flour distributed to 15,000,000 people came from government wheat, with distribution continuing into 1932-33. The Red Cross also pursued peace-time public health and youth programs, and will cover nearly $500,000 in relief costs from its treasury. Citizens are urged to join local chapters during the Armistice to Thanksgiving roll call.
Clothes for the Needy reports 296000 garments sewn last year under Red Cross direction and aims for millions more in the winter of 1932 33. Congress provided 500000 bales of cotton and the national Red Cross distributed vast cloth to all chapters, with plans to send ready made items such as trousers overalls underwear stockings and socks.
Public health nurses across hundreds of communities face record demand. They visited 1,357,000 individuals and inspected 949,000 school children. Over 58,000 adults were taught home hygiene and sick care.
Books in braille for the blind are produced by women under Red Cross direction. Last year 2,818 books were made in single copies and 8,538 in double copies. Fiction biography history economics and school works were printed in braille and given free to libraries for distribution to blind readers.
