Countian Escapes Asphyxiation As Co-Worker Dies
MOSCOW Larkin Head 61 of here escaped as a co worker was asphyxiated Monday when a high pressure service line in a trench broke from a gas main at 706 W Front St where they were working. The dead man is Robert S Houston 42 of 3742 Beechmont Ave 12 year CG&E veteran. Head fell after he stayed to shut off the escaping gas and a passing trucker helped in the rescue. Life Squad attempts failed and Houston died on arrival at Cincinnati General Hospital.

The GOP gained county auditor and county commissioner posts and won key state races as 23 000 of 27 500 county voters participated. County tax levy failed 15 972 to 7 073 while Sunday issue also failed 15 196 to 8 493. Northeastern passed its school operating levy 1 097 to 1 062 but rejected a bond 1 092 to 1 075. Bethel and Felicity Franklin approved levies, Goshen and Loveland levies passed, West Clermont rejected a bond but okayed transfer. Dr. Charles M. Simmons announces that curriculum overviews for grades four through eight are being distributed to all teachers in the county school system this week. Earlier overviews for kindergarten through third grade were sent in September, with high school overviews due by December end. Prepared by twelve committees, the guides cover reading, English, writing, spelling, geography, history, mathematics, science, physical education, health and safety, art and music, under supervision of Dr. Frank C.
