Clermont County YMCA breaks ground for 2600-family facility
Groundbreaking marks start of a $3.26 million Clermont County Family YMCA project on 14.5 acres near Half Acre Road. Phase one creates a 3375 square foot pool, gym, meeting rooms, and admin spaces at $2.16 million with completion in a year. Phase two adds outdoor pool, tracks and tennis, while phase three includes handball facilities. McBride sworn in as county commissioner after GOP race
Jerry Robert McBride, 32, won the Republican nomination and was sworn in as county commissioner on October 27 and began duties on November 8 to fill the late Dale Romohr’s term until 1985. He defeated Gary Vogelgesang on the third ballot, resigned as Union Township trustee and as common pleas referee, and plans to be a full time commissioner while possibly practicing law in his spare time.
