Election day is Tuesday November 7 with heavy campaigning as signs dominate crossings like Clough Pike and Glen Este Williamsville Road. Meals run from 8 a.m. to 7 30 p.m at Pierce Township Hall Locust Corner. A white elephant and bazaar table will be available.
Disco dance lessons start in November at the YWCA with instructor Diane. Learn moves on Wednesday evenings. For information and registration, call 732 0450.
Senator Howard Metzenbaum’s mobile office will be in Batavia on Wednesday November 8 from 1 30 p m to 4 30 p m parked in front of the courthouse on Main Street. John Maynard of the staff will staff the office to provide district services to distant parts of Ohio beyond Cleveland Columbus Cincinnati and Toledo.
The Owensville school cafeteria hosts a Thanksgiving style turkey or baked ham dinner with all trimmings from 11 AM to 7 PM on Sunday November 5. St. Louis Church Owensville. Adults 3 dollars children 1.50. Features include social games booths cash prizes and ample parking.
Newtonsville Belfast Methodist Church on SR 131 between Newtonsville and Williams Corner hosts a ham and turkey smorgasbord Saturday November 4 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Adults are charged 3.50 and children 1.50 with gift items available at a bazaar table.
A spaghetti dinner will be served after the football game at Batavia High School on Saturday November 4 from about 4 to 6 pm. Adults pay 2 dollars, students 1.50, and school children attend free.
On Monday November 20 Cler Mont College will host its annual German luncheon served in the college cafeteria from 11 30 to 1 00 p m. German foods prepared by Food Technology students under Mrs Margaret Laverty will be offered with Mr Buddy Ross providing accordion music.
Candidates and spouses joined a Republican Caravan with Robert Croswell and Marion Croswell aboard a campaign bus at Van Leunen’s shopping center. The tour stopped at Cherry Grove Plaza Milford Shopping Center Loveland and Goshen Schools while Edie Watson observed. CART started Batavia Village Service from Heritage Building offering ten cent rides to major civic sites on six daily runs.
Voters in Clermont County face a library bond issue to build a new main library with 100000 volume capacity, east of Batavia, serving Goshen and New Richmond, replacing the rented Batavia facility. State issues cover charter procedures and tied trade questions, plus local fire, police, and district levies across townships and districts.
Clermont eyes high turnout with 45 000 registered voters. Watson predicts about 31 000 ballots cast and returns counting around midnight as polls close at 7 30. Presiding judges to arrive at the Board of Elections.
