The William Junior Woman's Club outlines 12 years of civic works and annual Harvest Ball plans. The event, Nov 3 from 9 30 p m to 1 30 a m with Cliff Lash and orchestra, funds local education and charities.
Clermont County and local boards of education will hold a joint meeting at Batavia high school cafeteria on Wednesday November 7 at 8 p m. Dr Charles M Simmons president of the county board will present future plans to expand educational television for Cincinnati area communities with speakers William Becker and E I Griesinger highlighting program scope and benefits.
Clermont County treasurer Byron Ross reports that second half tax collections are roughly 422,500 dollars below normal while first half totals reached 2,550,500. He notes some delinquent owners paid back taxes but not current ones.
The First Baptist Church of Owensville will honor Rev. C. W. Jessee on his 18th anniversary as pastor with a 2 p.m. Sunday program. Speakers include Sam Brabham and Red Turner. Under Jessee, the church completed three building programs, added 700 members and recorded over 500 baptisms.

The results show Weygandt 68 percent vs Taft 32 for chief justice, Matthias 80 percent vs Mayer 20 for Supreme Court judge, Long 64 percent vs Hoffheimer 36 for Court of Appeals, Keefe 64 percent vs Hover 36 for Appeals, Rosenhoffer 55 percent vs Osborn 45 for Common Pleas, West 70 percent vs Jackson 52 for County Court. An unopposed County Court judge candidate Erhardt had 28 votes.
Dean Lloyd, Felicity Schools guidance director, was elected president of the Clermont County Guidance Counselors Association at its first meeting of the school year. The Batavia high school gathering on October 25 hosted by Mary Catherine Branch included members from Goshen Williamsburg Bethel Clermont Northeastern West Clermont and county office. The next meeting is set for December 13.
Clermont Planning Commission committees will study proposals for garbage disposal to ensure a permanent solution. They consider Col Oscar M Lewis and Milford realtor Donald R Florea plan to develop a landfill on Lewis 210 acre farm at the intersection of Routes 50 and 133 near Montgomery. The Health Department approved the site, which lies near Brushy Fork Creek.

Clermont County Western Saddle Club turned a profit of 513.83 from the October 7 horse show at the County Home grounds near Batavia and handed the check to Carroll Gregg, county Home superintendent. 122 horses entered from Ohio Indiana and Kentucky. Gregg will use funds to buy equipment for residents such as wheelchairs walkers radios and bed spreads.
Thieves struck the Bamboo Room on Nine Mile Road and U S 52 west of New Richmond on Monday night for the fifth time this year. They broke a side window to enter and stole whiskey and coins from a vending machine. The tavern is owned by Andy Painter.
