Dollenmayer suffered serious injuries Sunday after falling from a truck owned by his son. Reports say he has a skull fracture a broken arm severe facial and head injuries plus many bruises. Doctors have not set the arm due to his critical condition and he received head and chin stitches.
A strong box used by a Fayetteville Roman Catholic Church was found behind a Marathon home last Thursday night. Virgil Minnick reported hearing noises and seeing two people claiming to be changing a tire. The tabernacle was missing and shotgun shells were found. the sexton identified the old box as taken from his home for storing papers.
The Board of County Commissioners made Stanlyn Drive a Union Township road, extending 600 feet southeast of Dieckman Lane south of State Route 125. Petitions to open a public road on Segal Hamblen property and to repair another township road were reviewed, with a viewing set for November.
Elmer A. Cramer Clermont County Bloodmobile chairman asks registered and graduate nurses to help with arrangements when the blood unit visits Batavia on November 21. Mrs. James Patchell of Stone Lick leads nursing duties. Mrs. Jacob Laffleur of Batavia organizes donor workers. The local committee chaired by Mrs. Victor Cribbet will meet Monday night at the Fellowship Hall of the Presbyterian Church.
Stanley E. Pattison 49 former principal of Mt Carmel Glen Este School died Sunday after a stroke at Bethesda Hospital Cincinnati. Services were held at Moore Funeral Home Batavia yesterday afternoon. Survived by wife Florence, four children, and his father E H Pattison. He taught at Olive Branch and Salt Air and led Clermont County Schoolmasters Club and Mt Carmel Grange.
County Auditor Earle B. Kincaid reported 150 trailer owners in Clermont County have paid the $18 annual registration fee. Fifty permits were sold to New Richmond residents tied to a new electric generating plant project. Failing to pay may bring fines up to $50.
Amelia School teachers will present a variety show Tuesday night at a P T A meeting. Keith Williams directs the entertainment. Mothers of seventh and eighth grade students serve as hostesses. The meeting starts at 8 p m.
Clermont County authorities set December draft quota at 11 inductees while November quota stands at 19. Sixteen inductees are slated for November 20 with three more on November 4. Previously, Carl D. Connor and Raymond D. Springer left the Batavia draft board for induction. Preinduction physicals were given to 14, with 25 men called November 6 and 55 on November 15.
New Richmond School opens a $148000 athletic fieldhouse with 1500 seating and 2500 capacity. The ceremony starts at 7 15 p m with a tour, followed by an 8 15 p m band concert and dedication address by Nixson Denton. The event ends with a basketball game against alumni. Meredith Burns presents the keys to school authorities.
Jennie Bruebaker a Milford School pupil is stricken with polio and warded at the Children's Convalescent Home Cincinnati. Ill for two weeks she was first taken to General Hospital then moved to the Children's Home. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Nelson Bruebaker of Milford Route 1.
Clermont County voters will choose from 56 polling places Tuesday to decide state county township village and school district issues. A constitutional amendment would let the general assembly set probate judge counts. two new county road taxes of one and two mills would fund construction and repairs, lasting two years with 55 percent approval. Voters must be 21 and meet residency requirements.
A two car collision at the junction of U S Route 52 and State Route 222 in Chile left nine people with cuts and bruises. Charles King, 23, and Richard Snyder, 25, were injured. King received a head injury after failing to yield. A three car crash west of Owensville on U S Route 50 injured three, including Rev. Andrew Jackson Haste, 72, and his wife Anna. A separate crash on Route 133 near Bethel left Caldwell with a severe head cut and a broken pole caused power loss.
J R Erdman former village councilman announced his run as a write in candidate in the New Richmond mayoralty race. The ballot lists four existing candidates: Mayor Russel Flynn Frank Strasinger Robert Knox and John Long.
