Stanfield wrongful death suit ends in out of court settlement

In Batavia Ohio attorney for David P Stanfield said the wrongful death case against Eastgate Mall developers and managers is finally over. An out of court settlement was reached May 22 after a two day trial. Judge John Watson ordered confidentiality of the settlement amount. Stanfield sought 15 million dollars alleging neglect of security and protection at Eastgate Mall.

Teamsters Win Union Vote For Clermont Deputies and Dispatchers

In Batavia the Teamsters Union will represent dispatchers and deputies in contract talks with Clermont County Sheriff John Van Camp, after Local 740 defeated FOP Lodge 112 in a SERB supervised election. Four of five dispatchers and 43 of 62 deputies voted for Local 740. objections may be filed within 10 days and certification within 15 days. Deputy leaders say a long battle ahead remains, with FOP vowing to return depending on contract terms.

Clermont County Planning Commission staff opposes United Dairy Farmer’s plan for a UDF store with gasoline islands and a drive through bank on six-tenths of an acre.
