Lt. Phillip Vermillion of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Batavia Post reported a lower accident rate in Clermont County and statewide over Memorial Day weekend. The post investigated 34 incidents with serious injuries noted and fewer drivers on the road due to gas shortages. County Administrator Bruce Henry said the three year old agreement allows cross jurisdiction cooperation in emergencies and responsibilities. Assistant Prosecutor George Pattison noted the agreement remains in order as written. The decision followed plans to terminate double celling at the jail with prisoner transport adjustments.
