Small Attendance at Clermont County Democratic Convention
The Clermont County Democratic Convention met at Batavia Court House last Saturday at 1:30 PM with only 44 present. Candidates for county offices and township committeemen led a tame gathering, largely Batavia insiders, while others from remote parts dropped in. Judge Co P Griffith opened proceedings, choosing himself as chairman and J W Len n in as secretary, delegates and alternates were named for three conventions, and unit rules were adopted for voting. The convention heard brief resolutions with no endorsements for State or National offices, and the delegates were instructed to vote as specified for state, circuit judicial, and senatorial conventions to be held in June and May 1912.

Clermont County Woman's Clubs Meet in Williamsburg
The twelfth annual meeting of the Clermont County Federation of Woman's Clubs will convene Thursday June 6 1912 in Williamsburg. Morning program includes devotional vocal solos readings and papers on The Philippines and rural school consolidation with committee reports and officers announced in the afternoon lectured on Mental Moral and Sanitary Prophylaxis and musical selections by local clubs.

Decorate To-Morrow Honoring Departed Heroes
May 30 is set aside to decorate graves and attend services for fallen soldiers. The piece notes government aid for orphans and widows, calls for continued remembrance of Civil War and Spanish American War veterans, and invites all to observe the day in communities.
Reciprocity Day at Amelia Woman’s Club Holds Program
The Amelia Woman's Club held reciprocity day on Monday afternoon May 27 at Mrs Mary Terri's home with Mrs Katharine Offutt as hostess. The program featured songs by Miss Keen Mesdames Furkin and Johnson, a snapshots and souvenir collection, a rhymed trip summary by Katharine Offutt, songs The Rose and Bird Song by pemmmei men, Reading A Tale of Labrador by Edith Jonas, paper Noted Women of America by Miss Helen McMurchy, and a Glowworm song by Miss Eva Keen. An elegant two course lunch followed for 68 guests from New Richmond Batavia and Amelia.

Fine Trip Given to Successful Students of Ohio Agricultural College
Ten College of Agriculture students at Ohio State took a prize trip aboard Ohio Electric Ry founder Mr Schoepf’s private car. They visited Jersey cattle farms at Glendale and Clermont County, toured Chester Park amusements, stayed at Gibson House, then visited a Shaker settlement and Franklin before returning to Columbus. Mr Schoepf offered to host more Ohio farmers for guidance and information.

Clermont Man Charles Carnes Dies at 58
Charles Carnes 58 died at his Franklin home last Thursday from Brights disease after illness since fall. He leaves a wife and several children and was deeply respected in the community. The funeral and burial were held Saturday at Laurel, drawing one of the largest services in years.
