Croswell Captures Sheriff Reels In Burglary Suspect
Sheriff Fred Croswell was notified to meet the westbound N and W train to search for Theodore Lanthan of Barden. Lanthan was captured with 12 shirts, 2 pair shoes, 12 dozen hose, 6 night shirts, coat, cap and overalls. He was jailed in Bata via jail and held for Scioto County authorities. An escaped handcuffed prisoner later prompted a patrol call. He is a 20 year old man with fingers severed in a punch press accident.

40-8 Boys Initiate Four Candidates in Batavia

New Richmond Masonic Lodge held its inspection Friday night with good attendance and visitors. The Master Mason's degree was conferred and refreshments served. Marathon Lodge hosted Saturday night with visitors from across the county and pictures shown after the work. Williamsburg group inspected Monday night with large membership and a good year’s report. U B church observed a memorial Sunday May 28 1926 with 202 in Sunday school the highest count this year. A cash drive for a new church raised 1400 from Ladies Aid 800 from Helping Hand Class 500 from Choir and other gifts. The service ended with breaking ground for the new church and evening talks reflecting on fifty years of congregation.
